I’m a huge fan of L’Oreal products. They’re on the higher end of the affordable brand spectrum with high quality foundations, eye shadows and lipsticks. They’ve actually had some great offers on recently so I managed to pick up a few that have been on my list to try including the Infalible foundation that I reviewed this week and these L’Oreal Color Riche lipsticks.
These lipsticks were brought out in celebration of their 30 years on the market. There’s a wide range of colours and a couple of different finishes which I think is a great thing to have in a lipstick collection. I got a matte finish in shade 640 and a cream finish in shade 335.
‘Colour Riche is reborn with a much bigger and more superior range in three amazing finishes; matte, satin and cream. With 30 shades in the richest colours, you’ll be sure to find your perfect match. The Colour Riche formula is enriched with a combination of Omega-3 and Vitamin E for superior moisture.’
First off these lipsticks have the classic gold packaging which looks pretty for a certain amount of time and then it just scratches off. I like the look of them initially and as the gold wears off I remember how much I hate the gold packaging.
I personally love the scent of L’Oreal lipsticks. It reminds me of a pink lipstick my mam had that I was forever putting on when she wasn’t looking. It’s the classic L’Oreal smell so you’ll know what I’m talking about if you ever bought one of their lipsticks before.
The matte shade I got, 640, is a shade slightly darker than what I would call nude for my pale skin. It’s an orange brown colour which is very 90’s. The colour would suit a lot of skin tones and it’s very opaque.
The lipstick glides on easily and is very comfortable to wear. It’s a creamy, powder feeling matte lipstick that doesn’t feel drying.
This lipstick isn’t extremely long wearing but it does last 2-3 hours which I think it pretty decent.
I think the matte lipstick will be a great option for those that want something a bit long lasting without drying out your lips.
The cream shade I got is shade 335. It’s a stunning true red colour that would be beautiful on every skin tone. It is again extremely opaque.
This lipstick is really easy to apply although I would recommend using a lipliner to get a perfect application. The finish is creamy and glossy which I love as an alternative to my usual matte lipsticks.
This lasts as long as the matte shade which was 2-3 hours but it stains your lips making it appear to last longer. I personally like this.
I really like these lipsticks. I would gravitate towards the red shade for a special night out and to shade 640 for day time when I’m sick of wearing my usual nude. They both feel luxurious on the lips and neither of them bleed.
