I’m not very easily impressed when it comes to foundations but the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation keeps selling out so when I finally saw it in the shops I had to try it. It was less than €8 in Penneys and it’s one of my favourite bargain buys.

The Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation comes in a hard plastic bottle which feels like glass making it look expensive. This is one of the first things I really liked. It’s very sturdy (I’m constantly dropping things).

The bottle doesn’t have a pump but it has a dropper. This is isn’t the most convenient thing in my opinion. I think it get’s messy and I’d rather a pump to avoid any mess but you might like it. I decant it onto my Inglot mixing palette which was about €8.

The shade I got the shade 010 Light Beige. I usually find that affordable foundations have pink undertones in all their lightest shades but I like that this one is warm toned. In saying that this is one of the lightest shades and it’s not actually very light. It’s probably similar to MAC NC20-25. I blend this one down my neck slightly and this makes it work for me. It dries down to a darker shade so keep this in mind when you’re choosing your shade.

I found the best way to apply this foundation is to use either a damp beauty blender or to buff it in using a flat top kabuki brush. I didn’t like applying it with a traditional foundation brush, it was too much work to blend. It was much less work using an applicator that would really buff it into the skin.

One pump does my whole face and has a medium buildable coverage. This makes this foundation great value for money because you need less product to build up the coverage and it costs less than €8.

The Catrice HD Liquid foundation will suit normal or oily skin types due to it’s mattifying. It doesn’t look at all powdery on the skin and I love the finish.

This foundation lasts a decent amount of time on my oily face. Shine does come through on my t-zone area as the day goes on but it doesn’t break apart at all or become patchy like a lot of other affordable foundations. Put it this way, I don’t look like a shiny mess. A bit of powder on my forehead and I’m good to go again!

I would compare this Catrice foundation to my favourite Estée Lauder Double Wear because it had good coverage and it lasts brilliantly throughout the day. The Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation has become my new favourite affordable foundation. If you have oily/oily combination skin and you can find your shade then grab this.

I’ve heard a lot of people are having trouble getting this Catrice foundation but I always see it in Penneys so try there.

I would love if you came and followed me on my social media channels @louisekeoghCOM. It means so much to me that you read my posts because I put a lot of time and work into them x
