What attracted me to the Makeup Revolution New-Trals Vs Neutrals palette was 1. That it looks very similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette 2. It’s a very affordable price (€9.65) and 3. Those red and coral shades that you never see in affordable palettes. Just look at them colours!
So without further ado here’s my review along with the quick look that I created using the palette.
Upgrade your new natural eye looks with the new generation of natural shades.
The palette has a great mix of matte, shimmer and glittery shadows in a wide variety of shades and tones. This is exactly what I look for in a palette because ideally you want to create loads of different looks. You have you light, medium and dark matte and shimmer shades so this palette gets a big thumbs up from me.
What I also like about this palette is that there’s a good mix of cool and warm tones. Usually you’d get either one or the other but you have everything you need in one place with this one. There’s some lovely warm red/coral shadows along with cool browns.
All of the shadows have a decent colour pay off which you can see in the pictures. The pigmentation is amazing considering the price pioint. I especially like the colour pay off of the shimmer shadows.
I find the shadows blended easy and they all worked well together. Some of the shadows had a bit of fall out so I keep this in mind. As always, I recommend doing your eye makeup first especially for more dramatic looks. I always do my eye makeup first to avoid eyeshadow going everywhere anyway.
To get a lot of punch from the shimmer shadows, pack them on using your finger. They shine so much when you apply them this way.
The packaging looks nice (black and rose gold) and it’s sturdy. It comes with a brush which I personally won’t use but you might get some use out of it. The only way the packaging could be better is if the shade names were on the palette rather than on the plastic slip that comes with it.
I had to order this from the UK when I bought it because it wasn’t available anywhere here but the girls over at Matte to Metallic have just launched their online store. They have this palette in stock for only €9.69! If you’re buying this palette then I’d highly recommend them. It’s important to support our own and I love seeing Irish women in business succeed. Best of luck with the new online shop girls!!!
Here’s the spotlight eye I created using this look.
I started by priming my eye with some concealer and setting it with my face powder. This helps to colour correct my eyelid and create an even canvas. I then blended ‘Neutral’ into into the crease as my transition colour and darkened it up with ‘Adapt’.
To create the spotlight I blended ‘Tone’ into my inner and outer corner and the darkened this up with ‘Custom’.I then added ‘Style’ in the centre of the lid. For the lower lash line used ‘Neutral’ and ‘Adapt’. I then smudged some black eyeliner down with ‘Custom’.
I finished off with winged eyeliner, mascara and some individual lashes.
Overall I think palette is a steal and I really enjoy using it.
