As you all know (because I probably harp on about it a bit too much!) I have dry skin that suffers from the odd breakout. I’ve had a couple of messages asking for my skincare routine so I’ve put together a post of my favourite high end and affordable products that I love to use and that really help me avoid having patchy dry skin and breakouts.
My Lust Have It subscription arrived yesterday and I absolutely love the contents this month. It includes a couple of products I’ve been excited to try for ages.
This year is absolutely flying already so much so that I feel like I haven’t been posting as much as I should be since Christmas. This week I’m completely back on track with lots of good stuff planned so watch this space!
My favourite posts to read are the posts that have a high end product and a great ‘drugstore’ or affordable alternative. I thought I’d share with you two of my all time favourite pressed powders today. One is a high end Estee Lauder product and the other is Rimmel.
I had never tried any mineral powder makeup before so I was delighted to be gifted this 7 Piece Loose Minerals Starter Kit* from Thin Lizzy to try out. I was already a massive fan of their concealer crème so I was dying to give these products a go as soon as they arrived.
I’m a huge fan of L’Oreal products. They’re on the higher end of the affordable brand spectrum with high quality foundations, eye shadows and lipsticks. They’ve actually had some great offers on recently so I managed to pick up a few that have been on my list to try including the Infalible foundation that I reviewed this week and these L’Oreal Color Riche lipsticks.
These lipsticks were brought out in celebration of their 30 years on the market. There’s a wide range of colours and a couple of different finishes which I think is a great thing to have in a lipstick collection. I got a matte finish in shade 640 and a cream finish in shade 335.
The L’Oreal Infallible has been so raved about since it came out so I wanted to put it to the test. When it comes to foundations, I’m very hard to impress. I’m very particular because to me a foundation can make the world of difference to my confidence. I think this comes from years of having acne. I want a foundation that covers imperfections and stands the test of time. This was bought nearly a month ago and I’ve been so impressed ever since.
If like me and you’re a lover of lipsticks and a lover of MAC lipsticks then you‘ll want to keep reading. I’ve found a colour dupe for one of my favourite MAC lipsticks that I’m sure you’ll love too!
A couple of months ago my boyfriend bought me one of the Kiehls skincare packs. He did very well because he bought me the hydration pack which would be the pack most suited to my skin type! Skincare is a little funny to review because I think you need to give the product a good go before you can actually tell if it’s changing your skin for the better. I’ve been trying these out for almost three months now and can safely say there’s two in the pack that are worth investing in and one I won’t be repurchasing.
When my friends Carli Bybel palette arrived at work I knew that I just had to have it. It stud out for me because of all the beautiful highlights and warm tones. Jen from Jenuine blogger even chose it over her MAC stuff when she was going on holiday so I knew it had to be good.
